FAQ

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

A.  A safe, comfortable place to talk about your feelings, with someone who truly hears you, cares, and understands, is basically for everyone. I admit, I’m a little biased but if you’ve made it to this page, it’s safe to say you’re interested enough to give it a try.

Q. How can I make an appointment?

A. Click on the here or the scheduling tab in the main menu and you will be taken to the client portal to make your appointment in just a few clicks!

Q. What if I feel awkward?

A. Then I will feel awkward and we will both be awkward together. NO! Just kidding. I have years of experience in assessment, teaching, and awkward slow starts. Hey, no judgment here! I will lead the way to help get session going and am confident that you will feel comfortable in no time.

Q. I don’t like talking about my feelings.

A. That’s not really a question, but I hear this A LOT. Talking about our feelings is part of being a healthy and well functioning grown human. It’s something we need to learn for our emotional survival. If you’re not an overly emotional and sensitive person, that’s okay. Therapy will not change you into one. What I’m saying is that you need to have the skills to effectively communicate how you feel when it’s necessary. This ability improves your quality of life and I can show you how.

Q. I’m 55. Am I welcome at Modern Mental Health?

A. Yes! I have experience meeting with clients of all ages and all are welcome here.

Q. What if I prefer an office setting?

Due to COVID-19, Modern Mental Health has transitioned to 100% virtual appointments. While virtual sessions are just as effective, we understand that some clients prefer the privacy that an office setting offers. We are looking forward to reopening our Pinellas County office as soon as possible.

Telehealth is available to all self-pay clients. For insurance, check with your individual insurance provider, not all insurances are created equal. ** Most insurance providers have made Telehealth available to the majority of plans.**

Cigna
Florida Blue
United Health Care
Compsych EAP
